Another abridged league loading as financial burden mounts

The heavy burden of bankrolling the sponsorship of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) may force organisers of the league to adopt an abridged League format for the 2024/25 football season.

Sportsunlimited.ng gathered from a reliable source that the 20 NPFL teams will have to vote for either an abridged league season or a regular league when they coverage for it's AGM Tuesday in Abuja .

The League organisers are said to be groaning under intense pressure for lack of title sponsor for the league with the unbearing huge financial burden on GTI, the company that has bankroll the league for two season running.

At the AGM the League organisers are expected to announce a new sponsor IMG/Jvco a UK based TV Production company.
