Registration thrills orgnisers of Ikoyi Club tennis clinic

The registration of kids for the annual Ikoyi Club Easter Holiday Junior Tennis Clinic has surpassed the expectations of the organisers.

Many kids have registered for the tournament just as parents are still making frantic efforts to get more junior tennis player in for the event.

Junior tennis players, mostly children of club members, are expected to be on parade from today April 2 till Saturday April 6 for this event sponsored by Leadway Assurance.

Captain of the Tennis section, Azubuike Okonkwo, revealed that the response to the 2024 edition of the event has been fantastic.

“We are supposed to close registration before the start date but I am afraid, we still have to take some late entries on Tuesday so that everyone will be happy.

“It is a festive period and we are expecting so much fun on the courts when the kids begin the tournament proper after the clinic,” Assistant Coach, Christian Agbim, said yesterday.

Okonkwo also added that many activities have been lined up to add to further boost this edition.

There will be clinic and tournament for 5-7 year-old boys and girls, 8-10 year-old boys and girls, 11-13 year-old boys and girls and 14-16 year-old boys and girls.

The annual Ikoyi Club 1938 Easter Holiday Tennis Clinic/Tournament starts today at the tennis courts of the elite club in Lagos.
